Editorial policy: how we research and verify
Every guide on MedSpaRules goes through the same process before it's published.
1. Official sources only
We start from primary sources: statutes, enrolled bill text, the official legislative record, and rules and guidance published by state boards and agencies. We save a dated copy of each source. We don't use law-firm blogs, vendor articles or other secondary summaries as sources for facts about the law.
2. Every fact is cited
Each factual statement in a guide links to the specific document and section it comes from. The numbered citations in the text match the Sources list at the end of each page.
3. Independent verification
Before publishing, every claim is checked against the cited source by a separate review step that did not write the article. A guide is published only if no statement could mislead a reader about what the law allows, requires or prohibits. Guides that can't be verified this way are held back.
4. How we use AI
We use AI tools to help gather sources, draft guides and check every claim against the source text. AI does not decide what the law says. The official documents do, and the verification step exists to catch anything a draft gets wrong.
5. Dated and monitored
Each guide shows the date it was last verified. We re-check our saved sources on a schedule, and when a source changes, the affected guides are re-verified and updated.
6. Gaps are stated, not filled
If the law doesn't address a question readers commonly ask, the guide says so. We don't fill gaps with assumptions.
